14 Things Girls Are REALLY Saying

February 7, 2017 by Jordan Sok No Comments

In honor of Valentine’s Day next week I figured I would spread the love by sharing some secrets for my (unmarried) male blog readers. Here are 14 things girls say translated into what they actually mean.

By the way- I wrote this back when I was a single lady. By now realize I have to actually say what I’m thinking because married men don’t try as hard as single men.

3 Things to Do When Life Won’t Slow Down

January 23, 2017 by Jordan Sok No Comments

Life in your 20s has to be the weirdest, most inconsistent decade of them all. Of course this is a legitimate fact since I’ve lived all of two-and-a-half decades and can therefore draw this logical conclusion.

Think about it: for the average person in their twenties we go from finishing college and living with our best friends, to getting our first real job and living alone, to maybe getting married, to maybe having kids.

tired and busy woman with multitasking conceptThat’s a lot of change in a ten-year span.

Just six years ago I was wearing sweats to class and eating Taco Bell every night. Now I…well I still wear sweats most days and eat a lot of Taco Bell, so I’m not proving my point.

But besides my sweatpants and bad eating habits, not much has stayed consistent. Just a little over a year ago I wrote a blog about what to do when life seems slow. I was bored out of my mind and there were way too many hours in a day. Now I’m in a season that feels like there aren’t close to enough hours in a day. I rarely feel like I have time to do the things I actually want to do (hence, my first blog in a month and a half).

Maybe you feel the same way.

Why It’s Okay to be Sad this Holiday Season

December 24, 2016 by Jordan Sok No Comments

It was pouring outside and the temperature was dropping so I knew I needed to get on the road soon, but my roommate and I couldn’t seem to stop chatting. I blew off my dad when he called and told me the weather forecast and that if I was going to make the trip to Ohio I better go now.

I figured I would get on the road in a minute.

An hour later I finally made my way to my car to begin my two-and-a-half hour trip to see Brandon. Long-distance dating was the worst.

I drove on that same highway like I had driven a million times before, but this time was different.

I guess the temperature finally hit freezing as I was passing that semi. My car suddenly spun out of control and I saw myself heading sideways into an 18-wheeler at 70 mph.

When You’re Failing at Your To-Do List

December 18, 2016 by Jordan Sok No Comments

When Brandon and I decided to buy a home in need of some major TLC, I knew it was going to cause some stress, but considering my nickname is “JoJo” I assumed I would easily kick into Joanna Gaines mode.

Ummm…no.

I’m apparently more like the JoJo from JoJo’s Circus.
